CACLD International exists to promote Human Right, Democracy and Good Governance, Inter-ethnic peace, Peaceful Reconstruction of Colonial Borders and Education and Rehabilitation of Refugees.
Our Vision is to usher in an era of world peace based on justice for all. Specifically, we envision a peacefully restructured or renegotiated Nigeria based on a negotiated arrangement between the Nigerian Government and self-determination/ethnic groups within Nigeria by 2020.
The CACLD International (Conscious Advocacy for Civil Leadership and Development started in April 2016 when a few friends on Facebook spread across Africa, Europe and North America understudied the Human Rights condition in the world, especially in Africa. They found out that there is a missing link between the Human Right efforts in Africa and the historical and cultural experiences of the African people. Another significant finding by that Study Group was that existing Human Right efforts in Africa had been geared mainly towards addressing individual liberties without impacting the corporate structures that undermine those personal liberties. The result is persistent and growing violation of Human Rights among the peoples of Africa. In addition to this, they also found out that the protection of group rights or the rights of the ethnic groups of Africa to organize themselves had been virtually been ignored by the Human Rights community. The consequences of this are many, including continued and wide spread ethnic tension in most of Africa and increasing potential for wars, terrorism, militancy, poverty and suffering among the ordinary people. It is to address these needs and provide an anvil for forging a peaceful and negotiated existence among the diverse peoples of the world, especially Africans, that the CACLD International was founded. The CACLD is registered under the State of Michigan as a not – for profit organization that promotes Human Rights, Good Governance and Democracy, inter-ethnic peace and Refugee Rehabilitation. It is also recognized by the Internal Revenue Service of the US Government as a Public Charity under the 501 (c 3) Code.
